JAMESTOWN MURDER SUSPECT APPREHENDED IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY INDICTED

6107967_GWith Jamestown still in disbelief over the stabbing death of an elderly man there, the Fentress County Grand Jury has returned an indictment for 38 year old Brandi Adams according to the TBI.  Adams is charged with first degree murder during the perpetration of a robbery and one count of first degree murder during the perpetration of a kidnapping and is in the Fentress County Jail on a one million dollar bond. The body of 88 year old Clay Sherrill was found at his home in Jamestown on November 24th.   TBI Agents, working alongside investigators from the Jamestown and Crossville police departments and the Fentress County and Cumberland County sheriff’s departments, developed information which led to Sherrill’s son’s girlfriend, Brandi Michelli Adams as the individual believed to be responsible for the crime.   Acting on a tip, Cumberland County Deputies found Adams huddled under a blanket beneath the Clifty River bridge after apparently attempting suicide from drug overdose. Clay Sherrill had purchased the home about a year ago and, after the death of his wife,  reportedly invited his son and his son’s girlfriend to come live with him. Funeral services for Mr. Sherrill  will be held on Thursday December 4th at 1 pm at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at the City Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Wednesday December 3rd from 5-7 pm at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home.
