There are more questions than answers these days on the City of Crossville transferring its water department to the Cumberland Plateau Water Authority.  Depending on who you talk to there are pro’s and con’s connected to the transfer.  Most of the community has no idea what is involved because it is very complex. The big question most water users have is will your water bill go up or down if the transfer of city water assets is approved by the City Council. Some Council members are for the transfer – others are against it. There will be a referendum in November on the voting ballot for City voters to either allow the City to give up the water department if the City decides to join the CPWA or not allow the City to make the transfer.  This Thursday, September 10th, City Council member Dr. Mark Fox will conduct a town hall meeting with a complimentary dinner starting at 5:30pm at the Palace Theater to explain specifically what the merger would mean to the City water customers and what that merger would mean for the City’s operating budget.
