IMPORTANT SEVERE WEATHER INFORMATION FOR THIS EVENING

A system currently working its way across parts of the Midwest was expected to bring strong storms to Middle Tennessee.

The greatest chance for severe weather has been projected to move through Middle Tennessee late this evening into the overnight hours Friday. A few scattered storms could begin popping up as early as this afternoon. Some of the evening storms could be severe.

As the disturbance moves through, it will combine with warmth and moisture to produce scattered showers and storms.

Highs Thursday were expected to rise into the upper 70’s  for most of the area. Later on in the evening, a cold front was projected to move through, bringing the severe weather.

By Friday, lows could dip into the upper 40s and rise into the upper 70s by the weekend.

The main thing is to stay alert this evening for any weather watches or warnings that my be dispatched.  Systems like this which pass through overnight are especially dangerous as most people are asleep.  A weather radio that will come on if any warnings are issued is a good investment. Otherwise – stay in the know with online sources such as CNF and local radio such as Steve Norris on 105.7 The Hog for urgent weather information.
