On 11/2/2024 a city officer responded to the front parking lot of the police department in reference to a theft report. He made contact with the victim who stated that he was at Walmart and checked out at approximately 10:30 a.m. He stated that he selected $40.00 cash back but forgot to grab it from the cash dispenser before leaving. He realized he forgot it and later went to the service desk, but no one had turned in the money.

The officer then left and went to review video footage at Walmart. Upon reviewing the footage, he noted an older male with blondish-white hair take the money from the dispenser and exit without attempting to turn in the money to an associate, nor did he attempt to contact law enforcement.

The officer sent a photo of him to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and was able to identify him as Mr. David Adams. The officer was able to locate a driver’s license out of Rhea County and confirmed that it was him. The officer wrote a warrant on Mr. Adams for theft of property.
