HERE’S YOUR CHANCE TO GET YOUR CREATIVITY ‘PUBLISHED’

TDOTThe Tennessee Department of Transportation is calling for help creating highway safety messages. TDOT will start taking online entries for the Dynamic Message Sign Contest on Monday, January 5. Submissions will be considered for five categories: seat belt usage, impaired driving, distracted driving, speeding, and aggressive driving. “Eyes on the Road & Head out of Your Apps,” “Buckle Up Y’all, It’s the Law,” and “Ho Ho Hold Your Calls” are some previous overhead messages that have caught the attention of drivers. The contest closes on Friday, January 16. TDOT will allow the public to vote on the best entries Monday, January 26 through Friday, February 6. The winning phrases will be placed in rotation on the 163 overhead message signs in Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis, Nashville, and some rural areas throughout the year (No prize, just placement in sign rotation).
