GOVERNOR HASLAM TO VISIT CROSSVILLE TODAY TO SURVEY STORM DISASTER

Governor Haslam is coming to Crossville today to survey the damage from the winter storm that has left devastation throughout the county.  He will be visiting the Red Cross shelter and touring the county to see first hand the ‘war zone’ like destruction to the land, structures and power grid. The Governor has dispatched TEMA to help in clean up operations over the past few days.  Cumberland County suffered the most damage from the ice storm that hit overnight Friday into Saturday.  There are still thousands without electricity in the county with another swath of snow expected to pass through mid-week.  The community has come together in a big way to help those in need of heat, food, shelter and cleaning up of fallen trees and limbs.  The Governor is expected to ask for federal funds to help in the aftermath of the disaster.
