GOVERNOR HASLAM SAYS REBEL FLAG MUST GO
Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam has jumped on the “Confederate Flag” controversy by stating that he believes a state license plate with the “Stars and Bars” should be discontinued. The specialty license plate is for the Sons of Confederate Veterans that features the Confederate flag in the corner. Over 2000 of the plates are on vehicles across the state and those against removing them say that doing so would only add to the misinterpretation of the flag. Many officials throughout the south are questioning the display of the flag in light of a racially charged shooting at a black church in Charleston South Carolina.
