Funeral services for former Cumberland County Commissioner V.J. Dodson, age 88, of Pleasant Hill, will be held on Saturday, August 4th at Hood Funeral Home at 6:00 PM. Dodson served the community on various committees including the Cumberland County Farm Bureau, county commission, agricultural committees, Farmers Home Administration Board and soil conservation. Visitation will be held prior to service from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Burial will be held on Sunday, August 5th at New Pleasant Hill Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Survivors include wife Carol Dodson, children; retired county Fire Chief and EMS Director Jeff Dodson, David Dodson, and Jan Baker, and stepsons Ray Brewer, and Stanton Brewer. Hood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
