FREE MEDICAL, DENTAL AND VISION CLINIC COMES TO COOKEVILLE THIS WEEK-END

For those who are without health insurance or are simply under insured, help is on the way.

A group of Tennessee Tech nursing and pre-professional students have worked to bring a Remote Area Medical Clinic, or RAM, to Cookeville. The RAM event is scheduled to run from Saturday, April 2nd through Sunday, April 3rd. at Cookeville High School.

“In one weekend we should  see around 1,000 under insured and non-insured patients and be able to give them free and quality medical, dental and vision care,” said RAM’s Community Host Group Leader William Seagrave.

Seagrave says they’re looking for as many volunteers as they can get to make the event a success.

“We’re looking for dentist, doctors, and nurses,” said Seagrave. “Over half of our volunteers are actually just general volunteers who have no medical training at all because we need help with registration and direct patients to certain areas.”
