FIVE PEOPLE INJURED DURING CRASH AT CIRCLE K SUNDAY MORNING-THREE FLOWN TO HOSPITAL

CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol is revealing more about a police chase that ended in a crash out of Crossville.

The news first came from Crossville Fire and Rescue, which said several people were injured in the crash Sunday morning.

According to CFR, the crash happened around 7:30 a.m. at a Circle K on Highway 127. Five people were injured, according to CFR. Of those five, three had to be flown to a hospital, CFR said.

Monday, THP released its preliminary report of the crash. According to the report, Donnel Johnson, 31, was being chased by law enforcement when he hit another car as it was trying to turn into the Circle K. Johnson’s car reportedly hit the other car and traveled into the gas station’s parking lot “rotating and coming to a final rest… in the northbound ditch.”

During the crash, THP said, debris from both cars hit two pedestrians standing near the entrance of the Circle K.

Johnson was not injured in the crash, according to THP’s report, and neither was his passenger, 25-year-old Adam Owens Jr. Charges are pending for both, according to THP. Owens and the driver of the other car were both reportedly injured.
