FIFTY RESPONDERS CALLED TO FIRE IN WOODMERE MALL MONDAY

Over 50 respornders were on hand to battle a blaze in the Woodmere Mall this (Monday) evening when fire broke out at the Blush Salon business and traveled to the Dollar Store next door.

Fire Chief Chris South told CNF the fire call came in around 5pm and in no time he gave the ‘all call’ for all fire fighters, including volunteer firefighters, to show up to help contain the fire.  Chief South said Sparta, Cookeville and Smithville fire units were put on stand-by for mutual aid if needed.

Chief South said the two buisnesses suffered extensive fire damage and will be closed for some time.  No injuries were reported.  That investigation  is  ongoing.
