An investigation by the Fentress County Sheriff’s Office and the TBI has resulted in a Jamestown woman being charged in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred this morning.

Just before 9:00 a.m., deputies with the Fentress County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of Whippoorwill Lane in Jamestown. Upon arrival, deputies located Samuel Jennings suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. A female suspect, later identified as Jolina Upchurch was seen leaving the area.

A warrant has since been obtained for Upchurch, charging her with Criminal Homicide. As of 6pm on 4/9/26 The suspect is in custody of the Fentress County Sheriff’s Department!
