FAMILY AND FRIENDS HOLD CANDLELIGHT VIGIL FOR MISSING NIKKI BURGESS

The search continues Today for a missing Nashville mother. Her friends and family gathered Tuesday night for a campaign to bring her home safe.

Nikki Burgess was reported missing back on May 25th after two days of no communication with family or friends. Nashville Metro Police say they suspect foul play. Police say she was supposed to be headed to the Crossville area, but never showed up.

Friends and family of Nikki Burgess took to prayer and candlelight at Cumberland County High School’s football field. Her father, Bill, is desperately searching for any answers as to where his daughter might be.

She was supposed to be visiting her father about a few weeks ago, but then something came up.

“It doesn’t make you feel real good at all, but it was her choice. I’ve never been away from her that long since she was born,” said Burgess.

Burgess says Nikki was planning on moving back to the Crossville area right around the time she went missing. One of her oldest friends set up the candlelight vigil to help get the word out about Nikki.

“I just wanted to get her face and name out there, that way maybe somebody might actually see her or run into her and say hey there she is,” said Robert Underwood, a friend of Nikki’s.

People wore yellow ribbons and donated money to the Burgess family to support them in this tough time. Her oldest son, Tristan, is worried sick about his mother and remembers when he first heard the concerning news.

“Is she safe? Is my brother safe? Knowing that I wasn’t anywhere near them because I live in Crossville. I was freaking out,” said Ketchum.

Both Burgess’ son and father are hopeful Nikki may return home.

“I’m hoping, but I don’t know. It’s just hard,” said Burgess.

Nikki Burgess is 36 years old, five feet, one inch tall and weighs 126 pounds. Anyone who saw her on May 23 or afterward should call Nashville Metro Police at 615-862-8600 or Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
