ELECTION DAY: COUNTY COMMISSION, SCHOOL BOARD, ASSESSOR, STATE PRIMARY, JUDGES

Several races in the General Election today in Cumberland County, but not all are being contested.  Two County Commission seats are up for grabs.  Only one, District 9, is contested for the unexpired term.  Sandra Dutcher, John Patterson, Jr., and Robert Smith are vying for that seat.  Incumbent Property Assessor David Simcox is up against Pete Souza who is running as an Independent.   Five School Board seats are being voted on but only two are contested.  District 8 candidates are Teresa Boston and Micheal McAnally.  District 6 has three candidates, Tom Netherton, Victor Randolph and Matt Speich.   In the State Republican Primary for 6th District U.S. House of Representatives there are three candidates; Incumbent Diane Black, Tommy Hay and Donald Strong.  In the State Democrat Primary for 6th District U.S. House of Representative there are two; David Kent and Flo Matheson.  Voters will also be deciding on retaining State Supreme Court and Appeals Court Judges.
