At the beginning of August 2022, authorities were dispatched to Creston Road in Cumberland County. Complaints had been made regarding an elderly lady being locked in a camper. Deputies located a pull-behind camper sitting on a property with a busted piece of wood wedged between the handle and door, preventing it from being opened from the inside. An elderly female came to the window and peered out.

After officers released her from the camper she told them that she is locked inside the camper quite regularly by her girlfriend, Misty Ware, who has taken care of her for over fifteen years. She further stated that Misty brings her food just twice a month. She also told officers that she is prescribed medicine which Misty does not give her on a regular basis. The woman said she does pay rent but does not know how much she pays since Misty takes her social security checks. 

Photographs of the condition of the camper were taken and the woman was taken to the Cumberland Medical Center where she remained in the care of the hospital. 

A warrant was issued for Misty, whose name is Misty Garcia and she was arrested with a bond of $30,000. 

Her court date is set for 10/31/22.
