EAST TN HOLIDAY EVENTS AND PARADES – ALPHABETICAL

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The holiday season is here, and there are events and parades are scheduled across the region.

Whether you’re someone who looks forward to the holiday season year-round or someone hoping to enjoy some season cheer, here’s a list of holiday events happening in East Tennessee.

Anderson County

  • Jackson Square Christmas Market in Oak Ridge
    • Saturday, December 6 & 20 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Jackson Square
    • The market will feature handcrafted goods from local vendors, live holiday music and places to take festive photos in front of decorated businesses.

Blount County

  • City of Maryville Tree Lighting
    • Saturday, November 29 at 5:30 p.m.
    • The tree lighting will be taking place at the Maryville Parking Garage on Broadway, closing out the downtown Holiday Market event happening that day.
  • City of Alcoa Tree Lighting
    • Monday, December 1 at 6:15 p.m.
    • The event at the Pedestrian Bridge at the Springbrook Corporate Center will be followed by special music, refreshments, and visits with Santa Claus.
  • Blount County Festival of Trees
    • Thursday, December 4 at 6:30 p.m.
    • The lawn at the Blount County Courthouse will be illuminated with live Christmas Trees of all sizes, themes and colors. The festival opening event will include entertainment, refreshments, and visits with Santa Claus.
    • The trees will be on display for a month-long event, which allows the community to enjoy the festival by driving by or walking through for a closer look.
  • H.O.M.E. for the Holidays Tree lighting
    • Saturday, December 6 at 6 p.m.
    • The tree lighting at the MLK Jr. Community Center will include family fun and light refreshments
  • Blount County Jaycees Christmas Parade in Alcoa and Maryville
    • Saturday, December 13 at 11 a.m.
    • Parade route begins on Joule Street in Alcoa, crossing Calderwood Street into New Midland Plaza Shopping Center and exiting at Gill Street. Turning right at Calderwood and Gill, the route enters Maryville on Cusick Street and turns right onto Broadway Avenue. Another right at the intersection of Broadway and Lamar Alexander Parkway the parade ends at Simmons Street near New Providence Presbyterian Church. All side streets connected to the parade route will be closed to traffic.

Cocke County

  • Newport Christmas Parade
    • Friday, December 5 at 6:30 p.m.
    • Parade route is set to begin at Debbie’s Drive-In and go down Broadway through historic downtown Newport, and conclude at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church.

Cumberland County

  • Crossville Christmas Parade
    • Saturday, December 13 at 4:30 p.m.

Hamblen County

  • Morristown Christmas Parade
    • Thursday, December 4 at 7 p.m. on Main Street

Jefferson County

  • Dandridge’s Merriment on Main
    • Saturday, November 29, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    • The event will have face painting, “Christmas Llamas,” shopping downtown, Santa and more. The ice rink opens for the season outside Dandridge town hall at 2 p.m.
  • Dandridge Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
    • Monday, December 1 at 6 p.m.
    • Ceremony to take place on the Jefferson County Courthouse Steps, with Santa to follow
  • Dandridge Reindeer Run from Maury Middle to Downtown
    • Saturday, December 6 at 10 a.m.
    • Cookies and refreshments served after the run with downtown shopping.
  • Dandridge Cookie Crawl
    • Saturday, December 13, at 6 p.m. in historic Dandridge
  • Dandridge Fire Department’s Annual Christmas Parade
    • Saturday, December 20 at 1 p.m.
  • Candlelight Shopping & Carriage Rides in Dandridge
    • Saturday, December 13 & 20 at 6 p.m.

Knox County

  • Christmas Marketplace at The Historic Ramsey House
    • Saturday, November 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2614 Thorn Grove Pike in Knoxville
    • The holiday market will feature more than 50 vendors, as well as tours of the 1797 historic home, demonstrations in the historic Blacksmith shop, and Santa will be available for children to share their Christmas lists with or take photos.
  • Christmas at Chilhowee
    • November 21 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
    • Enter at 401 Lakeside St.
    • The holiday event at Chilhowee Park will have a tree lighting in the bandstand, followed by free photos with Santa, crafts and a holiday ‘Touch-A-Truck’ where kids will be able to see decorated construction vehicles, firetrucks and police cars up close.
  • All is Bright
    • November 21 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Pinnacle at Turkey Creek
    • Holiday celebration in the green space between Talbots and Loft will feature live entertainment, a magical photo experience with Santa, snow, and holiday-themed activities.
  • Campbell Station Skate in Farragut
    • November 22 – January 3
    • Farragut’s synthetic ice rink is back for another year at Mayor Ralph McGill Plaza
    • Tickets are $5 per person for a 45 min skate session
  • Light the Park
    • Countdown to Light the Park – Monday, November 24 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Founders Park
    • Event to include live music and performances throughout the evening, and Santa will make an appearance at 6:45 p.m., turning on more than 100,000 lights in Farragut.
    • Light the Park – November 24 – January 1
    • From dusk to 10 p.m. nightly, the holiday lights will be on along Campbell Station Road from the I-40 commuter lot to the Campbell Station Inn Plaza at the intersection of Campbell Station Road and Kingston Pike, Visitors can enjoy strolling through the park, mailing letters to Santa, and checking out daily giveaways from local businesses and groups. Restrooms will be available nightly until 9 p.m., except for on December 25.
  • Regal Celebration of Lights in Market Square
    • Friday, November 28, 2025
    • Starting at 5:15 p.m., there will be live music, with a lighting ceremony for the 42-foot-tall Mickey Mallonee Christmas in the City Tree in Krutch Park Extension starting at 6 p.m. 6 News anchors Bo Williams and Tearsa Smith will emcee the tree lighting.
    • The event also has free activities starting after the tree lighting, as well as musical performances from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Holidays on Ice in Downtown Knoxville
    • November 28 – January 4
    • Hours vary by day, with some special holiday hours for Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. See the full schedule here.
    • Season passes are available, but tickets for adults are $12, and for children 12 years old and under, tickets are $9.
  • Safety City Christmas
    • Date TBA
  • 52nd Annual WIVK Christmas Parade in Downtown Knoxville
    • Friday, December 5th at 7:00 p.m.
    • Parade route is set to follow Gay Street from E. Hill to Jackson Ave (Concluding past Covenant Health Park).
  • Fountain City Christmas Parade
    • Friday, December 6, at 9 a.m.
    • Parade route begins at Gresham Middle School, crosses Broadway and finishes at Central High School
  • Ijams Nature Center’s 12th Annual Holiday Market Place ($5 parking fee)
    • Sunday, December 7, at the Ijams Visitor Center, located at 2915 Island Home Ave in Knoxville.
  • Farragut Christmas Parade & Santa’s Village
    • December 7 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
    • At 4 p.m.. the parade will begin along Jamestown Boulevard from the Farragut Community Center and will continue up Jamestowne in front of Faith Lutheran Church and behind the Village Green Shopping Center, turning into the west entrance of the shopping center, and ending a little bit before Santa’s Village at Mayor Ralpha McGill Plaza.
  • Gingerbread House Competition at the Farragut Community Center
    • December 11 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
    • Team entry for up to four participants of all ages is $10, plus $5 for each additional team member. Teams must register by December 9.
    • The sweet competition will include teams building gingerbread houses that will compete in a “People’s Choice” vote on social media.
  • Knoxville’s Tour de Lights bike ride and holiday market
    • Saturday, December 13th, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Mary Costa Plaza at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum.
  • Winter Market at Biddle Farms at the Biddle Farms Community Green
    • December 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 11238 Kingston Pike in Farragut
    • Explore local art vendors featuring stained glass, pottery, crochet and more. Enjoy a gingerbread house contest, a local business passport, arts and crafts for kids and fun photo opportunities throughout the market.
  • New Year’s Eve at the Sunsphere
    • December 31 from 9 p.m. to midnight
    • The event in World’s Fair Park will include food trucks, free activities and a silent disco at 9 p.m., with live music by Liquid Velvet happening from 9 p.m. to 11:55 p.m. The event will also include a ball drop from the Sunsphere at midnight.

Monroe County

  • Sweetwater Drive-Thru Christmas Light Experience
    • December 9-24
    • The free event hosted by Mollenhour Gross Real Estate and Red Stag Fulfillment is set to run nightly from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at 500 Red Stag Way in Sweetwater, just off I-75 Exit 62.
    • The drive will have more than 100,000 synchronized lights, Christmas scenes local farm and construction equipment decorated with lights, and festive displays.
  • Tellico Plains Christmas Parade
    • Saturday, December 20 at 3 p.m.
    • The event hosted by the Tellico Plains Kiwanis will have hospitality stations at Volunteer Federal Parking, at the Visitors Center, Charles Hall Museum, Cherohala Skyway at Babcock Street, and the Town Square starting at 2 p.m. and offering cookies, coffee, hot chocolate or cider.

Roane County

  • Roane Chamber’s Taste of the Holidays
    • Saturday, November 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Downtown Rockwood
  • Oak Ridge Christmas Parade
    • Saturday, December 13, at 6 p.m., along the Oak Ridge Turnpike

Sevier County

  • Christmas at the Courthouse
    • Thursday, December 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
    • The family friendly event at the Sevier County Courthouse Lawn, located at 125 Court Avenue in Sevierville, will feature a tree lighting at 6 p.m.
    • Other festivities include Christmas-themed wagon rides, face painting, children’s crafts, and photo opportunities with Santa. There will also be local vendors selling handmade Christmas gift items and food trucks.
