KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Officers with the Knoxville Police Department responded to a gunshot victim on Riverside Drive Friday afternoon, according to a tweet from department officials.

KPD representatives later provided an incident report, where they said that the shooting happened at Holston Oaks Apartments. Upon arrival, officers reportedly found the victim with one gunshot wound. They were taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim is also refusing to cooperate with officers at this time and is not pressing charges, officials said. At this stage in the investigation, officers said they think the person was shot by a relative at an unknown location.

So far, no suspects are in custody.
