A 2.4 magnitude earthquake was reported in Blount County.

The quake was reported shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday a half-mile south-southwest of Rockford, and 4.6 miles north-northeast of Maryville, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The event was recorded at a depth of approximately 12.4 miles.

It struck in Eagleton Village, near Knoxville.
