PRESS RELEASE FROM WHITE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

On December 4, 2015 at approx 3:40 a.m. Deputies responded to Red Road just at the edge of Cumberland County to a shooting. Sheriff Shoupe and Detectives of the White County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene with T.B.I. Agent Dan Friel. Several subjects were interviewed and the residence was processed after a search warrant was issued. A domestic assault situation is alleged to have occurred between the ex-girlfriend Heather Green and Richard Shane Campbell. After a lengthy argument and assault, a weapon was brought into the situation and Mr. Campbell was fatally wounded. The investigation is ongoing and Officers and Detectives are still investigating. Those arriving on the scene and assisting were, Dep Cunningham, Dep Young, Sgt Melanson, Sheriff Shoupe, Det Ford, Det Page, Det Jenkins, Det Isom, ADA Hatch, ADA Macleod,County Coroner Office, Mike Kerr, EMS, and T.B.I.
