DOZENS OF TN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS SUSPENDED FOR WEARING LEGGINGS

No sooner than a Cleveland TN woman’s video goes viral on not wearing leggings that expose the female form too clearly, more than 40 students at Mt. Juliet High have been suspended for just that – not wearing clothes that cover up.  Here’s the story from WKRN in Nashville….

MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — Dozens of teenagers are upset with Mt. Juliet High School after the school punished them for their outfits Thursday.

The school told News 2 it was simply enforcing the school dress code on leggings but some parents and students said the suspensions caught them off guard.

Ashton Cable, 18, was one of many the school sent to in-school suspension Thursday.

“They said ‘either sit in the cafeteria’, I guess it was ISS, or ‘you can go home and change’,” said Cable.

She was one of many female students at Mt. Juliet High School who staff told they were wearing leggings in a way that breaks the school dress code.

“When I walked in, there was at least 50 or so girls standing around wearing all types of outfits of all different sorts. So it wasn’t just me. It happened to a lot of other girls too,” said Cable.

Students began tweeting about the crackdown with hash tag #FreeTheLeggings.  READ MORE AT WKRN HERE
