OVER A DOZEN MAILBOXES DESTROYED, TWO ARRESTED

Two 18-year-olds and one 17-year-old were arrested Friday night after authorities say they destroyed or damaged over a dozen mailboxes. Crossville Police responded to the area of Iris Circle, Mockingbird Drive and Holiday Drive where they pulled the suspects’ vehicle over for malfunctioning taillights. While speaking to the three male occupants, the officer noticed pieces of concrete block in the front and rear seat of the car. There was also black residue on a backpack in the back seat. According to reports, the three young men admitted to vandalizing about 15 mailboxes in the area. The 17-year-old was issued a citation and was released to his parents. The two 18-year-olds were taken to the Cumberland County Justice Center where they were charged with vandalism and possibly more charges pending.
