DISASTER AREA FOOD STAMP RECIPIENTS COULD GET REIMBURSED

Crossville News First has learned that SNAP (Food Stamp) recipients who lost food during the recent winter storm may be eligible for replacement benefits.  We contacted The Department of Human Services who told us that a SNAP recipient should contact them to find out if they are eligible.  Meanwhile, DHS is preparing more information for us to publish regarding the replacement benefits.  Many families lost food during the power outage that was bought using the SNAP program and would otherwise just be out the loss.  DHS understands the devastation of the storm and is working to help those who need it to replenish their food supply.  You may call the Crossville DHS office at 931-484-2573.
