DETAILS: I-40 CLOSED DOWN LAST NIGHT DUE TO SNOW, THREE CRASHES
We now know a little more about the calamity on I-40 last night.
Emergency officials responded to at least three wrecks on I-40 between Cookeville and Monterey during a period of snowfall Monday night. The first one, involving a car that flipped onto its top, was reported at the 299 mile marker in the westbound lane just after 7:30 p.m. While emergency responders were on the scene of that wreck, another crash involving a car that had rear-ended a semi trailer was reported three miles down the road at the 296 mile marker. Less than an hour later, a third wreck was reported in the eastbound lanes of I-40 at the 298 mile marker. No reports of injuries from those crashes yet from THP.
