DEPUTIES GET THE ‘BIRD’ AND THE CHASE IS ON

elkgroveIt was a wild night in Crab Orchard Thursday night.  County deputies on patrol noticed a car in the middle of the road, just sitting there.  When the deputies hit the lights and siren, it took off and a female passenger ‘flipped off’ the deputies.  The chase was on.  From Crab Orchard to Crossville where city police got into the action.  Spike strips were put down but that just slowed the suspects down.  With three tires blown out – the suspects kept going, along the way throwing stuff out the car window including beer cans, straws with drug residue, stolen credit cards and even a stolen Social Security card. The chase ended on Chestnut Hill Road after police set up a road block.  Neither the driver nor the passenger were very cooperative however.  Wouldn’t get out of the car after being ordered by the police.  Both suspects had to be Tasered before they could be taken into custody.  In the end, Donna Schubert and Daniel Sherrill  of Crossville  were hauled to jail and are charged with evading arrest, theft of property, reckless endangerment, vandalism, criminal impersonation, and fraudulent use of a credit card. Bond was set at $64,000.00.
