On 06/01/2025 at or around 0230 I was sitting watching traffic at 10092 U.S 70 E along with another deputy when a brown and black German Shepard came between our vehicles and stood by my window. I immediately recognized this dog as “Delbert”, Delbert W Smith’s dog from several previous interactions similar to this. Delbert the dog responded to his name and entered my patrol car easily; I then drove him back to Delbert Smiths house at 138 White Hall St where I knew that he originated from.

After making contact with Mr. Smith, he acknowledged that Delbert keeps running away but due to the frequency of his animals running at large, the number of warnings provided over the previous few weeks, and the lack of effort put forward to cure the situation I elected to cite Mr. Smith for T.C.A 44-8-408 Animal at Large. Mr. Smith signed the citation without resistance, and I departed the scene
