CUMERLAND CO EMS WORKER INDICTED FOR STEALING $112,000+, TIMESHEET FALSEIFIED

Former Wilson County Emergency Management Agency (WCEMA) and Cumberland County EMS employee Adam Johnson was indicted by the Wilson County Grand Jury on May 11, 2026. Investigators allege he falsified timesheets to receive at least $117,108.63 for unworked hours, which included $4,482.17 from Wilson County and $112,626.46 from Cumberland County.
Johnson was indicted on the following felony charges: 
  • Theft over $2,500
  • Official Misconduct
  • Destruction and Tampering with governmental records

  • Overlapping Shifts: An investigation by the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office determined that Johnson claimed to be on duty in Cumberland County during shifts that overlapped with his Wilson County EMA schedule. 
  • Wilson County Indictment: Following the comptroller’s investigation, the Wilson County Grand Jury indicted Johnson on May 11, 2026. 
  • Cumberland County Indictment: On June 16, 2026, the Cumberland County Grand Jury also indicted him on one count of theft over $60,000, along with official misconduct and tampering with records.
