Today was a big day at the Homestead School.  First, the unveiling of the Historical Registry marker at the Homesteads Tower.  The Homestead Tower Association Board of Directors were on hand along with several local government officials for the unveiling of the Marker – signifying the rich heritage the Cumberland Homesteads holds.  The Homesteads is an entirely created community under the Roosevelt Administration in the 30’s designed to help put people to work by building homes and then living in those homes.  Right after the dedication, the Homestead Elementary School celebrated their 75th Anniversary.
