CUMBERLAND COUNTY MAN SENTENCED TO 23 YEARS FOR MURDERING WIFE

A Cumberland County man has been sentenced to just over two decades behind bars after pleading guilty to killing his wife by strangulation last year. 39-year-old Mathew Dean Owens entered a guilty plea to a lesser charge of Second Degree Murder of 47-year-old Nina Karen Owens who was reported missing in early August 20635484594695590024-matthew-owens-375x50014. Authorities found her skeletal remains in the woods off Pugh Cemetery Road about two months after her sister reported her missing. Under the plea deal, Owens received a 23-year prison sentence.
