CUMBERLAND COUNTY MAN SENTENCED TO 23 YEARS FOR MURDERING WIFE
A Cumberland County man has been sentenced to just over two decades behind bars after pleading guilty to killing his wife by strangulation last year. 39-year-old Mathew Dean Owens entered a guilty plea to a lesser charge of Second Degree Murder of 47-year-old Nina Karen Owens who was reported missing in early August 2014. Authorities found her skeletal remains in the woods off Pugh Cemetery Road about two months after her sister reported her missing. Under the plea deal, Owens received a 23-year prison sentence.
