The following has been released by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department concerning a Publishers Clearing House Scam that is circulating:

Publisher Clearing House Scam
Individuals continue to receive phone calls telling them they have won a cash prize and need to send money to cover the taxes and fees. Then another individual calls claiming to be Wells Fargo and says they have all the paperwork lined up to make the transfer once the money is received. Phone numbers have been identified as being based in Jamaica.

Tips to remember:

#1 You never need to pay money to claim a Publisher Clearinghouse prize.

#2 The Prize Patrol NEVER contacts winners by Facebook, Email or Phone.

#3 The ONLY way you will KNOW you won a Publisher Clearinghouse Prize is when the Prize Patrol shows up at your door as a complete surprise.
