The Cumberland County Board of Education will meet tonight to consider a four year contract renewal for Director of Schools William Stepp.  Stepp is currently making $118,000 per year which is well below surrounding counties DOS salaries.  Roane County DOS salary is $145,000 as well as Putnam County DOS also $145,000.  Bledsoe County DOS salary is $147,000.  Stepp is asking to be raised to $141,000.  The BOE meeting is scheduled for 6pm tonight (Thursday Dec, 5th)
