On 10/9/2024 a city officer responded to Evelyn Avenue in reference to Volunteer Behavioral Health needing to evaluate a subject named Kelly Sanders DOB 2/26/1980. The officer made contact with the evaluator, who stated that Kelly’s mother called Crisis instead of the police when Kelly assaulted her.
Upon evaluating Kelly, Kelly made statements that something “entered her” and the voices made her elbow her mother. The evaluator stated that Kelly did hit her mother in the face, which caused her glasses to shove into the bridge of her nose.
At this time, mental health paperwork was not signed on Kelly Sanders; therefore, the officer concluded that Miss Sanders was the primary aggressor and could continue to be a danger to her mother. He placed Miss Sanders in handcuffs and transported her to the Cumberland County Jail and charged her with domestic assault. He served her with bond conditions, which he made a copy of and took to dispatch to be entered into NCIC.
