CROSSVILLE WOMAN KILLED IN CAR WRECK GOING HOME FROM WORK, DOLLAR GENERAL TO PAY FUNERAL COSTS
36-year-old Christy Garrett celebrated her birthday on December 21st. Five days later, the day after Christmas, she died after her car hit black ice on Clear Creek Road off 127 North and went over an embankment.
Christy was on her way home from work at the Dollar General Store on 127 North when she wrecked. Christy’s family was worried how they were going to bear the expense of a funeral for her when they got a call from the Dollar General Store district manager who said Dollar General Store would pay for the funeral. As you can imagine the family views that call as a God-send.
