CROSSVILLE WOMAN GIVES FALSE NAME TO POLICE WHILE WEARING HOSPITAL BRACELET BEARING TRUE NAME

On 08/30/2024, a Cumberland County Sheriff initiated a traffic stop on a Crossville man for failure to wear a seat belt while in operation of a motor vehicle. Upon approaching the vehicle while the Deputy was speaking to the man, another Deputy spoke to the female in the passenger seat who stated her name to be Sabrina Watson. The first Deputy then ran both of the subjects through NCIC by name and date of birth, which is when the Deputy found out the man did not have a valid driver’s license, and there was no return for a Sabrina Watson with that date of birth.

The female was again asked what her name was which she insisted was the previously stated name. On the female’s arm were hospital bracelets with the name Alexas Latshaw.  After asking the man what the female’s true name was, the Deputies were able to verify through him and the female that her name was in fact Alexas Latshaw. Therefore Ms. Latshaw was placed into custody for criminal impersonation and transported to the Cumberland County Jail for booking. No information was provided in the police report why she gave another name.

The man was cited for driving on a suspended license and the vehicle was towed by Young’s Towing since it was not in either subject’s names.
