Family and friends are mourning the loss of a Crossville woman who was involved in a tragic accident two weeks ago in Los Angeles .  Deanna Turner Smith was visiting her son in L.A.  Sources tell us that Deanna was attempting to rescue someone’s pet dog which had apparently gotten loose on a street when she was stuck by a vehicle.  She has been hospitalized since the accident.  According to reports, Deanna passed away from her injuries yesterday (Friday).  She has worked for many years at Crossville Ceramics.  Friends described Deanna as  a bright, bouncy woman who would do anything for anybody.  Service for Deanna will be announced at a later date.
