On 09/14/2022 City units responded to the area of Fourth St. where a manager from French’s shoes and boots was chasing two females down the road way who  stole shoes from the store. An officer made contact with one female hiding in the bushes with a bag which contained shoes and identified her as Melissa Kilby.

While in the area an officer located a second female hiding beside City Fire and instructed the female to come to him and she complied. The officer  identified the female as Christine Kilby and placed her in handcuffs and detained her. While placing her in the back of the patrol vehicle Christine asked ” If I give the shoes back, can I not got to Jail?” The manager at French’s identified both females as the ones who stole from French‘s.  Three pairs of shoes were recovered and returned to the business. Christine Kilby was arrested and transported to intake for booking and Melissa Kilby requested to be transported to Cumberland Medical Center and was transported by EMS and officers later transported her to intake and served her with her outstanding warrant for theft.
