CROSSVILLE VILLAGE INN CONDEMNED, OCCUPANTS TOLD TO LEAVE BY TONIGHT

According to Crossville Fire Chief Chris South, the Village Inn located on North Main Street was condemned this morning after multiple life-threatening safety violations were discovered among the 64 units.  Crossville Police had requested the City Fire’s assistance in an early morning drug raid on one unit.  Upon entering the unit there were several safety violations discovered with prompted authorities to check other units.  Virtually all units had life-threatening safety violations and occupants were told they had until 8pm tonight to vacate the premises and seven days to return to get personal belongings.  All units are occupied, some with multiple occupancies.  The entire Village Inn will be closed down until all safety violations are corrected.  The City along with other local agencies has offered to help the occupants find temporary living quarters.
