CROSSVILLE NEWS FIRST TESTS DISTRIBUTION AMID FACEBOOK CUT-BACKS

As many of you may have heard, Facebook has taken measures to cut back on certain Facebook pages showing up in user’s news feeds.  In the past if you had, say 15,000 subscribers or ‘likes’ of a Facebook page, when a post is made it should conceivably show up on all 15,000 subscribers news feed.  Now Facebook has implemented an algorithm of reducing the numbers of users who actually get a post, especially from news organizations.  Facebook claims it is their attempt to cut back on ‘fake’ news being distributed on their platform.  However, it also affects legitimate ‘local’ news services such as Crossville News First.  So we’ve decided to put it to a test and see how many of our subscribers actually do get our posts within your news feed.  We’ve asked everyone who sees this post in their news feed to click “like” on the post to give us an idea just how much Facebook is ‘throttling’ back our distribution.
