A Crossville mother is honoring her daughter by hosting a 5k run/walk in her memory.

Angel Bowman’s last two years have been spent living in a parent’s worst nightmare. Her daughter, Destiny, was diagnosed with having an inoperable brain tumor in her brain stem. In less than a year, Bowman’s 10 year old daughter was taken from her.

“She was 10 when she got it, she turned 11 June 8th, and she passed away November 14th, 2012,” Bowman said.

But now Bowman is honoring her daughter by hosting a 5k run/walk in Crossville. The event will also be a fundraiser for the HART animal shelter, because Destiny was passionate about animals and loved spending time with them.
