CROSSVILLE MOTEL SHUT DOWN BY SHERIFF TODAY

motelA motel in Crossville was padlocked and shut down by a court under nuisance laws.

Cumberland County Sheriff Casey Cox called the Budget Inn, located off of Highway 127 South in Crossville a haven for criminal activity. Cox said that since 2010 their department has received 309 calls ranging from homicides to meth labs.

A person was arrested for an outstanding warrant for burglary. She was taken into custody by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department.

K-9 officers went room to room at the motel and searched cars in the motel parking lot. Officers said they recovered drugs and drug paraphernalia. Officers with the sheriff’s department, Crossville Police Department, sheriff’s deputies and investigators from Putnam and White counties, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s task force and 13th Judicial District Attorney’s Office participated in the operation.
