CROSSVILLE MAN’S REJECTION TO POLYAMOROUS RELATIOSHIP LEADS TO ARREST OF ROOMATE’S EX
On 8/31/22 Crossville Police responded to Oak Grove St for a fight that was physical. Upon arrival the officer made contact with Mr. Taylor Royston. While speaking to Mr. Royston he stated that he had been in a fight with a roommate. Mr. Royston stated that he had been choked out during the struggle. The officer then spoke with the roommate and while speaking with him the roommate stated that he was in a relationship with the female whom resides in the same residence.
The roommate said Mr. Royston was the female’s ex and he also lived in the same residence with them. The roommate further stated that he and Mr. Royston began arguing due to Mr. Royston sending inappropriate pics to the female. The roommate next stated that Mr. Royston wanted a polyamorous relationship but that he did not want a relationship with Mr. Royston and only wanted a polyamorous relationship with someone he liked. Both males were in the bedroom in a heated conversation when Mr. Royston stated to the roommate ” I’ll cut your effin throat“! The Roommate stated that he watched Mr. Royston reach in his pocket for his knife and pull the knife out. The roommate began fighting Mr. Royston to keep from getting stabbed. The Roommate and Mr. Royston both had minor injuries. Mr. Royston was found to be the primary aggressor and was transported to the Justice Center for booking. The knife used in the assault was recovered and was placed into evidence.
