On May 5, 2024 a City Officer observed a silver Chevrolet Silverado traveling west on Old Lantana Road run the red light at Old Lantana Road and West Avenue. The truck then straddled the double yellow line on Old Lantana Road with both driver side tires over the line. The officer ran the tag through Dispatch which came back to a white Ford F250. The officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle at the intersection of Miller Avenue and New Lantana Road. He identified the driver as Mr. Joshua Alan Kemmer (DOB 09-16-97). Mr. Kemmer had red watery eyes, slurred speech, and an alcoholic odor coming from his person. Mr. Kemmer stated that he consumed 2 alcoholic beverages earlier. When asked about running the red light Mr. Kemmer stated “I did the no cop no stop.”  Mr. Kemmer did consent to Preliminary Breath Test (PBT) to which he blew a Fail.

The officer confirmed Mr. Kemmer was unable to successfully perform Field Sobriety. He read Mr. Kemmer Implied Consent to which he consented. The officer transported Mr. Kemmer to Cumberland County Justice Center and charged Mr. Kemmer with Driving Under the Influence and issued him a citation for Disregarding a Red Light.
