CNF has learned of a traffic fatality on Chestnut Hill Road approximately a mile from Crab Orchard. Saturday night at 9:20pm.  The 2001 F-150 pickup truck being driven by 38-year-old John Clifford Shelby of Crossville traveling toward Crossville veered off the road and hit a utility pole. The THP report said Shelby was traveling north on Chestnut Hill Road, near Monday Lane, in Crab Orchard. Shelby ran off the left shoulder of the roadway and overcorrected. The truck then went into a yaw, across the roadway, and struck a utility pole, and a road sign, in the driver’s door. The vehicle then rotated around, coming to final rest facing west. Shelby was killed on impact. .
