On February 7, 2023 dispatch received multiple calls of a white man with no shirt, pants or shoes running in the middle of the roadway on Hwy 70 East. An officer arrived in the area and located a male subject matching that description running in the middle of the road on 70 East. The officer knew the male to be Bruce Barison. He initiated his emergency lights behind Bruce who was still running in the roadway.

Multiple cars traveling in both directions had to stop and swerve from striking Mr. Barison. Bruce continued running in the middle of the roadway so the officer initiated his siren to signal him to stop. Bruce ran to the side of the roadway and contact was made with him. The officer asked him why he was running in the roadway and he stated he was exercising. While the officer was speaking with Bruce he appeared to be intoxicated.  Mr. Barison was placed under arrest and transported to intake for booking. Bruce Barison was charged with Public Intoxication and Disorderly conduct.
