On 04/12/2025, city units were dispatched to a home on South Main Street for an assault that took place. Upon arrival an officer spoke with the victim who stated that the aggressor, identified as Mr. Barry Smith, had taken electrode pads from his heart monitor off from his person. She stated once she entered the room Mr. Smith began walking toward her while cussing and holding the cords to the electrode pads. She stated she was then struck on the top of the head with his hands and the cords.

The officer was able to observe the camera footage and captured it on his body camera. The victim was observed walking into Mr. Smith’s room. Mr. Smith can then be observed walking toward her and she can be seen walking backwards from Mr. Smith. Mr. Smith can then be seen striking the victim on the top of her head with his hands and the cords to the electrode pads. Mr. Smith was given a misdemeanor citation for assault and was given a court date to appear.
