CROSSVILLE MAN ARRESTED FOR SHOPLIFTING AND FOUND IN POSSESSION OF DRUGS WHILE BEING QUESTIONED ON SEPARATE CRIME

On April 15, 2024 County officers responded Rural King due to Sean Stephens, age 49,  being in the store. Mr. Stephens was a suspect in a stolen vehicle case that had occurred on this date. The officers met Mr. Stephens at the front entrance of the store to question him about the stolen vehicle.

While coming in to contact with Mr. Stephens, store employees were following him outside trying to stop him due to him not paying for the merchandise he had in his possession. Store employees advised that Mr. Stephens had passed all points of sale with $3,522.59 worth of merchandise. Mr. Stephens had approximately $2,310.00 in cash on his person. Mr. Stephens also had a second cart in front of the register with approximately $1,000 worth of merchandise that he attempted to remove also but left it in front of the register next to the front entrance. Mr. Stephens was placed into custody and transported to intake for booking and charged with Theft of Property- Conduct involving Merchandise.

Mr. Stephens was also found with 15 Grams of a green leafy substance believed to be Marijuana which was placed into evidence for destruction.

Said offense occurred in Cumberland County, Tennessee.
