On January 28, 2024 at approximately 3:30 p.m. City units responded to the ER at Cumberland Medical Center and made contact with a Crossville man who was being treated for a stab wound on the back of the head. The man stated that he was in the chapel at the Bread of Life around noon and a short, stocky male with a black beard and wearing a black coat with a cowboy hat entered the chapel.

The victim told the male he wasn’t allowed in there at that time and when he turned to walk away, the male stabbed him in the back of the head. Nobody called 911 when the assault occurred and there were no cameras.  No further details are available at this time regarding the incident.
