On September 3, 2023 a male subject known well from numerous previous encounters to be Bruce Barison, DOB 5/15/89, was actively beating an empty shoe box against a power pole. Officers made contact with Mr. Barison and advised him that they had received a complaint of him being out in middle of the lane of traffic. Officers advised him to stay off the roadway.

As he walked away officers observed him cross the white line in traffic causing 3 cars to cross over the yellow lines into the oncoming flow of traffic to avoid hitting Mr. Barison. He was talking to the trees and flapping his arms in an attempt to fly away. For his safety and the safety of the public Mr. Barison was placed in custody and transported to the Cumberland County Justice Center where he was booked for Public Intoxication.
