According to Tennessee Highway Patrol, Dr. David L. McKinney Jr. of Crossville was killed when the motorcycle he was riding veered off Highway 30 on Dayton Mountain Friday night. THP investigators report McKinney was traveling East on Hwy 30 down Dayton Mtn. attempting to  pass a tractor trailer and a pickup truck. As McKinney was approaching a curve another vehicle was coming toward him and McKinney had to get back in the eastbound lane. McKinney then ran off the road, slid into a ditch & struck a driveway embankment.  Dr. McKinney Jr. was 49  (WTVC)
