CROSSVILLE COUNCIL MEMBER GOES FROM DEFEATED TO SEATED…AND ABOVE

Former Crossville City councilman Rob Harrison has gone from defeated council member in the November city election to now Mayor pro tem.  Harrison lost his bid for re-election to the Council in November to Mike Turner.  Harrison was then voted back onto the Council to fill council member R.J. Crawford’s seat after Crawford was elected Mayor.

During the Tuesday morning special called meeting, the Council voted for Mayor pro tem  (second in line to be Mayor in the event the Mayor cannot serve) and it was a tie vote between Rob Harrison and Mike Turner. Mike Turner had expressed interest in becoming mayor pro-tem and nominated himself for the vote. On the second vote, Harrison won with Turner voting for himself, Harrison voting for himself, Council member Shanks voting for Harrison and Mayor Crawford changing his vote from Turner to Harrison. Council member Art Gernt was not present at the meeting.
