COUNTY MAYOR FOSTER SIGNS DEAL WITH SHERIFF FOR MEDICAL EMERGENCY CALLS

Cumberland county Mayor Allen Foster has signed an agreement with the Sheriff’s Department.    It officially launched a groundbreaking program that makes Sheriff’s Deputies part of the county’s medical first response team.

This is  one of only two programs in Tennessee that medically trains and equips deputies with AEDs and medical bags. Since deputies are often first on the scene, this gives them the tools to save lives.
“I know the relief that comes when first responders arrive during a medical emergency. This program will bring that relief faster and it will save lives.” Mayor Foster told CNF.

The County Commission has approved the funding for this program. This comes just days after the City of Crossville approved the implementation of a city wide EMS program that will  provide ambulance services to city residents only.
